TelLab to commence recruitment in Tullow, following €1m EU funding to commercialise innovative water quality sensor

T.E. Laboratories (TelLab) is to commence recruitment for its New Product Development (NPD) team in Tullow, County Carlow. This follows TelLab winning funding EU funding in excess of €1.0m to commercialise Aquamonitrix™ – an innovate water quality sensor,  developed at our in-house R&D lab.

“The funding will allow recent outputs from in-company R&D activities to be exploited fully in global markets with the aim of achieving first-to-market advantage,” commented TelLab CEO Mark Bowkett. “This exciting project will deliver significant growth in export sales, as well as producing up to 25 new jobs.”

Hiring has already commenced, with Alan Staunton joining TelLab to head the NPD division. Other roles are currently being advertised at https://tellab.ie/careers

Initial opportunities will be for mechanical and electronic engineers, software developers and chemists. Further roles will be advertised on the company website as they become available.

The Aquamonitrix™ project represents a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of a young, creative team, bringing a much-needed solution to water resource managers and environmental monitoring agencies globally.

This is the second major EU grant Aquamonitrix™ has received over the past year. With  funding through the EU LIFE programme, Aquamonitrix™ has been demonstrated in real-life environments in Finland, Ireland, Spain and New Zealand.

In addition, Aquamonitrix is currently being trialled by the US EPA as part of the agency’s  Advanced Septic System Nitrogen Sensor Challenge.
