Environmental
Laboratory
We specialise in the analysis of surface water, groundwater, and effluent discharge to ensure compliance with regulations from organisations such as the EPA and Uisce Éireann. Carrying out an internship within our INAB Accredited (ISO 17025) Environmental Laboratory ensures that you will gain hands-on experience and contribute to our mission of providing high-quality analytical services in environmental testing. As an Intern, you will receive training in performing a variety of basic laboratory tasks related to quality analysis. It will be an opportunity to gain experience in performing daily checks on equipment and will provide experience in working in a busy commercial laboratory.
Production
Our reagents are manufactured to US Pharmacopeia, European Pharmacopeia, and British Pharmacopeia specifications within our ISO9000 certified Laboratory. An internship within our manufacturing department may include assisting with batch production processes, cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring product labels are produced efficiently and ensuring accurate record-keeping in compliance with Standard Operation Procedures and quality standards. It is an opportunity that offers a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing operations.

Research
& Development.
Our team is focused on quality, creativity, and making a real-world impact. The company operates multiple divisions which includes an active R&D division bringing new environmental technologies and analytical systems to market. TelLab’s R&D team develops, tests and deploys novel water sensor technologies across the globe in various water matrices. Prototype systems developed within the R&D division are transferred onto the New Product Development (NPD) group within the company for commercialisation. An internship with our collaborative R&D team ensures that students gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge environmental technology development, contribute meaningfully to impactful projects, and develop practical skills that bridge the gap between academic research and real-world application.
Hear from our
past Students:
Darren McDonald: “I started at TelLab as an Intern (Laboratory Assistant) during my undergraduate work placement (3 months 2023), which eventually led to a role as a Production Chemist (5 months 2024). That progression really reflected how much I had grown during my time there. The hands-on lab work, industry exposure, and support from the team provided a solid foundation in applied science and manufacturing. Thanks to everything I learned at TelLab, I was able to take the next step in my career and secure a place in a PhD program (Oct 2024). It was a hugely valuable experience that helped shape both my skills and confidence as a scientist.”

Details of 2026 internships will be announced later in the year but if you are interested in applying, please fill out the form and put ‘Interested in Internship’ in the Desired position or Area of Interest’ box.
